Red or White Wine? which has the least calories and which is better for you?
Im on a diet i love beer but i know theres loads a calories in that im trying to compromise!
Drinking either red wine or white wine will increase the HDL, or good, cholesterol. However, red wine contains much higher levels of powerful phenolic antioxidants than white wine does. These phenolic antioxidants found in red wine will help to keep your LDL, or bad, cholesterol levels healthy and will also help to reduce the blood clotting ability of the blood. Both of these actions will help to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
The number of calories in red wine and white wine does differ slightly; typically, four ounces of white wine have about five calories less than red wine. With that said, the number of calories in different varieties of wine differ far more; the higher the alcohol content, the higher the calorie count.
