How much calories does a bottle of fine White Wine have?

My dad’s BMI is 39.2, meaning he is VERY unhealthy. He doesn’t eat sweets, chips, etc, etc, so I’m trying to find out what makes him fat.
He shares a bottle of champagne with my mother occasionally, and a bottle of wine, and then two or three beers. Can someone tell me how much impact does that have on your diet?

1 calorie per proof per ounce. Wine can go from 6.5% up to 20%. Proof is % X 2 so an average wine of 12.5% is 25 proof. An 8 oz. glass would then have 200 calories, PLUS the residual sugar in the wine if any.

If your going for sweet red wine for your health, I would choose red zinfandel. However like a comment was posted earlier, its healty for the antioxidants, which is also found in grape juice… but it has to be natural 100% grape juice, and you’ve got to drink a lot more of it to get the same amount of antioxidants. The alcohol, though, really isn’t good for your liver, so you’re helping your body one way, while abusing it in another. If you do choose to go with wine, don’t drink it everyday, you only need about 2-4 ounces per week to get the job done well. If you don’t go for the wine nor the grape juice , green tea is an excellent alternative. It has considerably more antioxidants than the wine. Most people don’t like its bitter taste… I didn’t either, but I started making it like regular sweet iced tea and adding a shot of vanilla flavoring (not extract… flavoring) and it virtually takes away that bitter tea taste. There’s also some great instant green teas. Lipton makes flavored Green Tea To Go and all you’ve got to do is mix it into a bottle of water. A box of 10 packets (=10 bottles) will only cost about $2.50 at any grocery store. Hope this helps you.
