What type of European wine should I buy if I like Californian and Aust red wine? I prefer Shiraz and Pinot’s?
Well, if you like Shiraz and Pinot’s, go to where it all began. Shiraz’s dad is the venerated Syrah grape best made in the Rhone Valley. E. Guigal is a dependable producer/negiociant from that area. Try a Cote de Rhone Villages. For the Pinot Noir, where else, other than Burgundy. Wines tend to be a bit pricey, even for the most base wines. Santenay has not been as expensive as its better known neighbors but still a decent wine.
Best bet would be to stop by the local wine shop and see if they have any wine tastings featuring Rhone wines or Burgundy wines that you could attend.
